FAQs

The thought of a boudoir session can be scary. When talking to women about their session, I get asked all kinds of questions. So I wanted to compile a list of my most frequently asked questions to give you some insight on preparing for a boudoir session with me!

Where is your studio and do you offer shoots anywhere else?
We offer shoots at our home studio in Woodbine, which is in Western Howard County. We also offer shoots in different locations that we choose based upon your own needs.

I have never done this before. Will you help me prepare for my shoot?
Absolutely! I am here to help you every step of the way. I will send you tips to prepare for your shoot, will give you a list of what to bring with you and will pose you down to your finger tips during the session, so all you need to do is relax and let us take care of you.

How do I decide what to wear?
I am here to help you!  During our pre session consultation you can show me what you’re considering wearing.  Two outfits are included in the full boudoir experience.  You may add a 3rd outfit and 30 more minutes of shooting time for an additional $100 due at booking. Some popular options for what to wear include a body suit if you’d like more coverage, a bra and panties set, oversized sweater with matching underwear, your husband’s work shirt or sports jersey, or lingerie and accessories like long necklaces and hats are fun to play with too.  For more guidance on what to wear check out my blog here.

When can I expect to see my photos following my session?
I offer same-day Session Reveals, so you will return to the studio after lunch the day of your shoot to view a slide show of your loosely edited images (I will fully edit a few of each set so you can see how the final edits would look). You will have special pricing at your session reveal only, so it’s best if all final decisions are made at this time.  Full payment is required at your reveal and payment plans are available for collections valued at $1,000 or more.

How much should I expect to invest with a boudoir shoot?
The initial investment to begin the portrait process is the $500 deposit required at booking. Your deposit includes a $150 print credit to be applied towards the cost of your order at your reveal along with the session fee for your pre-session consultation, professional makeup application, the session itself, the retouching time and your in-person session reveal, when I show you your final gallery of images and together we design the products in your chosen collection. If you choose to reschedule your session within less than 24 hours notice before your session for any reason other than sickness or weather, a $150 rescheduling fee will be charged. The session fee is due at booking and is non-refundable. Collections start at $500 and a la carte products start at $440, but most clients invest upwards of $2000. Payment plans are available for collections valued at $1,000 or more. If you have a gift certificate, this may be redeemed to use towards the cost of your collection but may not be applied towards your initial $500 deposit.  Only one gift certificate may be redeemed for each session and they have no cash value, so may not be cashed in.

Do you have payment plans?
Yes! We want this experience to be as accessible as possible to as many women as possible who would like to do a boudoir shoot, so offer a variety of payment plan options. There is a deposit due at booking to hold your date, but as for the collections, you can choose to pre-pay for a collection in monthly payments in the months leading up to your shoot if you book a few months out. If you pre-pay for a collection worth $2000 or more, you will receive a free 12×18 metal print as well.  A second option is to make monthly payments after your shoot if your collection is valued at $1000 or more, but just know that with this option your print products will not be ordered until your final payment has been made.

What’s included with the personal coaching sessions?
Personal coaching sessions are for those who want more guidance for their own personal situations and to learn how to tap more into their own inner voice to make choices that are for their highest good and soul development.   Sessions are 60 minutes in length and will be conducted over Zoom calls and unlimited Voxer messaging support is available as well. The cost is $111 for a 60 minute session.  For more consistent support, you can join our Mastermind Group, “Joy” for $444/month. This includes 2 group coaching calls, 2 one-on-one calls each month or 4 week period. If you purchase 3 months in advance, you also receive unlimited Voxer support for $1,111.   To watch our free videos and receive tips for how to add more joy and passion into your life, request to join our VIP group here.

What if I need to reschedule my photo session?
We ask that you give at least 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule your session and depending on Julie’s schedule you may have to wait a few weeks before we can get you in again. If you give less than 24 hours notice to reschedule, a$150 rescheduling fee will be charged.  If you do not show up for your photo shoot, your $500 deposit will be forfeited as deposits due at booking are non-refundable.

How long will my session last?
The typical schedule for a shoot is:
10:00-10:45 makeup
10:45-11:45 shoot
11:45-12:00 review print products
12:00-1:00 break for lunch
1:00-2:00 session reveal

Do I have to get my makeup done?
You don’t have to get your makeup done, but the cost is already included and I highly recommend using our artist since her work matches my style of photography and it’s part of the pampering experience. It’s a great time to relax and not have to jump right into your session when you arrive. If you choose not to use our makeup artist, you will have the same session fee cost as those who do use her services.

Can I have my hair styled for the session?
You have the option to add hair styling for your session, but this service is not included in your session fee.  Please let me know at booking that you are interested in adding this service and I will provide you with a list of stylists and the costs involved with them.

Do I get the digital images of my photos?
Yes!  Digital images and print releases are included in all of the collections.

Will you post my photos online?
You have the option of signing a full model release which gives me permission to share any of the images from your shoot online or on my website or signing the partial model release which says that you are only comfortable with me sharing certain images that you can approve yourself first. Signing a model release is 100% optional.
